My long awaited anniversary staycation is finally here, I could practically feel jolts of excitement running through me. It has been a long time since I let my hair down and cleared my mind. I made
Park Hotel Alexandra, my staycation destination, lavished with a huge pool, pool bar and restaurant, I was certain that I would enjoy myself thoroughly.
The room had a relatively clean aesthetic, simple but pleasant. I threw my luggage to a corner and pounced onto the bed, sinking my weight into the comfort of it. Though reluctant to get up, I eventually did after Ben's relentless persuasion.
I walked towards the window and took a good look around. The shimmery blue pool caught my eye, luring me towards its clutches. But what seemed more appealing was the lovely open air bar that sat right next to it. Sure enough, we found ourselves sitting at the bar 20 mins later, with a pot of mussels and... Every good meal needs a great drink, and they had one really interesting cocktail menu, of which, I had not come across before. Taking our chances, we ordered a spicy melon cocktail... ;made from watermelons and chili padi. Surprisingly, it tasted better than I had imagine, it was refreshing and the heat left an interesting sensation. I would definitely encourage first- timers to try it.
After lunch, we headed back to the room to watch some shows and enjoy our well-needed rest.
Following that, we had dinner at the mall just next to the hotel. Sitting outdoors and enjoying the breeze, we started to reminisce the beautiful moments we had in our relationship. I can't believe that 9 years has gone by so fast, and here we are still holding each other hands at the end of the day. As we started to mature, our relationship grew even sweeter, like harvesting the fruits of labor.
We enjoyed each other laughter and company that night, I wished it lasted longer.
The next morning, we decided to have a dip in the pool. We got up pretty early to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. The pool overlooked Queensway,Singapore, truly a beautiful sight.
Park Hotel Alexandra, although situated in a bustling area, is surprisingly peaceful and a great place to relax!
Happy 9 years anniversary darling! xo
(An overdue post, our anniversary was in February).
