From Kamakura station, we walked along the sidewalks where there were lanes of eateries. I eventually gave in to the temptation of sushi after painfully enduring the sight of tantalizing food images on the signboards. We had sushi and 2 variations of miso soup. One with clams and the other with crab. The crab miso soup was fabulous, it had great flavours and a sweet fragrance that lingered in the air.
After the meal, we were off to see the iconic Kamakura DAIBUTSU (great Buddha). There are several DAIBUTSU in Japan but what really makes this one special, is the fact that it is still in its original form. Many of the other DAIBUTSU statues have sustained great damage and have been re-casted but not this one!
Standing at 11.3 metres tall, the DAIBUTSU statue looked mighty and beautiful. I love the intricate details and would urge all who are going to Kamakura to pay a visit to the DAIBUTSU statue.
Beautiful and very interesting post dear! :)
