It's Koala Mania! The Koalas are finally here in the Singapore Zoo. Native to Australia it is a real treat having them here. I really love their sluggish movements and always having the tendency to either eat or sleep. It is so adorable. It seemed hard to get them moving, but when the zoo keeper held branches of fresh eucalyptus leaves, it set them in motion. The viewing area was quickly filled up and I knew it was time to share this joy with other zoo visitors. I have longed to come to the zoo but never really found the time for it. I took the usual route and attended the animal show. After all these years, their shows never fail to put a smile on my face. The seals took many dives, juggled with an inflatable ball and made claps. Not an easy feat even for a man.

I went on to see the Giraffe and majestic lion before heading for lunch. The were lazing in their enclosures too tired to move. For a moment when my eyes meet the lions, a connection was made. It seemed to be telling me the sun was just too harsh. We went for a quick lunch before rushing to the River Safari.

It was hilarious how unpredictable the weather was. Just as we sat down to consume our meals, it started pouring. Our hearts sank in disappointment. The rain slowed and we ran out towards the River Safari in a tiny umbrella that could barely fit both of us. Eventually, we reached the River Safari half soaked. We went straight to the panda enclosure. My liking for pandas developed ever since I watched kung fu panda. Someday hopefully Jia Jia and Kai Kai ( the names of the panda) will bust out some kung fu moves. It was unfortunate that we could only see one of them. Next for Ben's favourite animal in the River Safari, the manatee. They seem like a hybrid of dolphin and whales. We admired it for quite awhile along with some of the other marine animals. We left with huge grins that day.
