Tokyo Skytree

I have been looking forward to visiting the tallest building in Japan, the Tokyo Skytree. The observation deck that towers over Tokyo offers a spectacular view of the beautiful city. We had lunch at Ootoya Japanese restaurant. My personal favourite had to be their fish, it had a mildly sweet taste and delicate texture which accompanied the rice perfectly.

After the meal, I made my way towards the Tokyo Skytree. Almost reaching the base of the Tokyo sky tree I foolishly attempted to get a good glimpse of the top of the building. I extended my neck backwards, I literally thought it would have fallen off. Thankfully, the camera snapped a better picture than the one I had in my head.

Moving up the Tokyo Skytree, the views got more beautiful and I was soon overlooking the roof  top of buildings. As the sun started to set, we quickly popped by one of the restaurants, Viva Na Poli to get a good look at the skyline. The gentle rays of the sun shone through the glass of beer that I held in my hand while I savoured the last moments of daylight.

We had lamb, lobster and side of calamari for dinner. The lamb was well flavoured and had a nice warm pink centre. The lobster was also worthy or mention, sweet and firm in texture. For dessert, I had a cup of green tea soft serve from Gion Tsujiri.

We continued patronising the shops in Tokyo sky tree after dinner. I held a cup of chocolate coated Calbee chips with a side of vanilla ice cream while I walked around the mall. Filled with Animee and movie character products my favourite was the Moomin house. I absolutely adore Moomin and definitely too cute to be eaten as curry rice.

It was a long day but one that I would definitely do again.
