Oh hey there! Ever imagined what being a local is like in Singapore? When you are not at the cafes or restaurant you will probably be at a food center enjoying the local foods like chicken rice, char siew (barbeque pork) noodles with dumpling soup or egg tarts.
When it comes to grocery shopping, it is usual to find our freshest produce and flowers in the neighboring areas. Sometimes, you may even chance upon some shops selling old goodies that can be rarely found.

Sounds fantastic! A food centred existence is just what I dream of.. restaurants, cafes, markets.. I can see the cultural differences between the UK and Italy too but I'm not sure I could say what it's like as a local here as I'm still kind of a tourist in Milan xxx

It looks beautiful in Singapore! I live close to Atlanta, GA, USA. The culture in the Atlanta area is pretty crazy. You have an amazing variety of food from southern comfort food to a variety of Asian cuisine to Greek. There are amazing little boutiques and vintage stores as well as big chain stores. There's even a gigantic food store called the Dekalb Farmer's Market where if you can't find any food you could possibly be looking for, you won't find it anywhere in the US. I really love Atlanta and everything you can do here.

I live in London but I'm visiting Singapore this summer on holiday and I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to see the beautiful city, eat the delicious food and relax on the hotel rooftop! I'm Chinese so the culture/cuisine might not be too different (correct me if I'm wrong!) but nevertheless I've heard many good things about Singapore so I'm already looking forward to it! London is a lovely place, but there's so much going on at once and the weather's always temperamental so a change of atmosphere will be nice and refreshing.

ReplyDeleteI live in Galati, Romania/Europe, I shop fresh ingredients from the local market and to cook at home, rarely we go out from pizza or other Italian food. Vintage stores are at other level, few items truly amazing.
