Japanese bob and perm at Kizuki + Lim

It is not as if it had a life but it means a lot to me. I was afraid of cutting my hair short especially in the careless hands of some stylist. But recently, I summoned enough courage to cut my hair. I have always admired girls with shoulder length hair and loose waves curls, constantly imagining myself in a haircut like that. Developing a phobia after an extensive period of not cutting my hair, I had to get someone skillful.

Without a second thought, a name popped up in my mind, Kizuki + Lim. Kizuki + Lim is a Japanese salon renowned for being second best salon in Singapore. I was ushered to my seat and asked about what hairstyle I was going for when I came through the door. I uncomfortably pointed to a picture I found on the internet. I was afraid but curious how it would turn out. They washed my hair before sitting me down and snipping off my hair. My hairstylist OBA could tell I was queasy and afraid. He took the first snip of my hair and gave it to me as a memento. The first snip was difficult for me. I eventually grew tired of staring hard at the mirror and grew sleepy. My eyes closed from time to time, until I received a tap on my shoulder and was told that it was done. I opened my eyes and was happy with the results but it lacked volume. It was time to transform my hair into ramen with the help of Japanese chef OBA. After putting multiple rollers in my hair and lining it up like California rolls. My hair perming session started. It felt really heavy and was glad that it will be over in a matter of minutes. In a bit, ramen was served up and I went for another rinse before finally blow drying my hair. When my hair was blown dry and styled it was beautiful and silky just like the one shown in the photo. I was elated, this was probably the best bowl of ramen I will ever have and I am going to stick it to my head. Loving my new bob perm hair so much!!

I realised that the hair not only brightened up my face but the entire outfit along with it. This made me ecstatic for the Hari Raya Pussa sale coming up on Zalora. The Lace fit and Flare dress is stunning, it is body hugging and has a beautiful lace surface. This can be easily paired with a pair of shoes from Melissa, Nine West or Steve madden which could be found from the site. I can’t wait to start shopping.

Tuck

Getting a quick taste of international snacks has never been easier. As much as I love the snacks I have locally I have always wondered how the snacks in the UK tasted. It was not before long that I found Tuck. They offer a decent range of snacks, beverages and sweets. I really loved the cute packaging of the chips and they were all in my favorite flavors. CHEESE, BACON, BEEF, SOUR CREAM, SALT AND VINEGAR!!! Argh! Completely irresistible! I had thoughts of food flooding my mind just one too many. As I scanned through the catalog, I felt as though I could almost taste them. I was in a dilemma, it was hard to make a decision between my favorite flavors and my decisions were as fickle as a pendulum. OH SHARKS, I guess I just have to get all of them and that's what I did. No snacks ever go well without a chilly gassy drink. I got 3 drinks pineapple and grapefruit, lemonade and fruit punch. To top it off some sweets, a kinder surprise and a pack of chocolates in pretty black and pink shells.

A few days later I got my parcel, and I headed straight for the Bacon rings. Who could resist the cute pink pig on the front of the packaging. The bacon rings were really tasty but slightly on the salty side but who cares bacon is always salty. Next, it was time for my kinder surprise. I was really dying to pop open that kinder surprise egg since it was from the avenger series. Iron man is my favorite hero, and I was hoping to him. Well, I got hawk eye instead, he must have got his eye on me. To finish it off I had a nice chilly lemonade. I really love the convenience of ordering from tuck, it literally is a Tuck shop in your own house and the snacks are awesome. I just got started on a pack of walkers as I am typing this and the sour cream is awesome!

Strawberry sea salt

Strawberry and sea salt seems like a perfect combination for a mocktail. The contrasting flavors of sweet and sour feels like love, always having two sides to it. The drink was refreshing bearing the colors of a lovers lip.

How's your week? Hope you are having a lovely week!

The door bell rang heralding the arrival of my surprise pack. I accelerated towards the door as beats of excitement ran through my body, receiving the box with open arms. I scurried back to my room in anticipation. Opening the box, i was elated to see my favorite snacks! Snacking is so sinful that I could almost feel horns growing from my head. But, yet you can always find solace in them, never failing to hit the spot, it is hard to ignore their presence.

This is the first time, I have enjoyed a snack feeling guilt free. I found Boxgreen online. For a small fee of $19.90 per month you will receive a surprise pack of 4 snacks. The snacks are healthful, completely rid of artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners and MSG. Snacking has never felt better.

Inside my April surprise pack it contained onion macadamia nuts and garlic, honeyed walnuts, fanciful figs and taro strips. My favorite has to be the onion macadamia nuts and garlic, really flavorful but not masking the taste of the nuts. Highly addictive!

I feel gratified when I order from Boxgreen. For every box delivered to us, a meal will be donated to the willing hearts to help the underprivileged. Free delivery is offered for every box ordered making it such a hassle free experience.

Ready for summer

Swimwear ℅ kiniswimwear

The best way to beat the summer heat is to relax in the pool. It does not hurt to spice up your wardrobe with some swimwear before heading to the pool next time. I got suited up in my new swimwear from Kiniswimwear. I choose an underwire top with frills and the high waist for the bottom piece. Frills, have a very alluring touch to it. The entire look of a bikini looks so much classier with this pretty addition. Kiniswimwear is a simple and great way for customizing your own piece of swimwear that is uniquely yours. Firstly, add your measurements for a perfect fit. Secondly, choose your top and bottom, be it a triangle top together with a retro bottom or a Bandeau top and skinny bottom, the possibilities are endless! Next it is time to customize your kini! It really gets me so hyped up when it comes to customization. Kiniswimwear offers a myriad of colours and prints to choose from, ranging from plain to metallic colours and countless prints. For my bikini, I choose red and white since it was my favourite colours. The turnout was jaw dropping, I was really happy with the entire look of my bespoke piece.

The heat was getting to me, almost unbearable. Getting myself a float, I drifted slowly in the pool. The sun was burning and it seemed pretty silly of me to be swimming rather than staying indoors. But I really love the outdoors it seemed hard to get away from it. It got harder to say no to the pool now that I have such a pretty piece of swimwear.

Hope you have a lovely week! xo

Remembering Lee Kuan Yew

Remembering Lee Kwan Yew

On 23 March 2015, Singapore lost a great man who decided the fate of our nation. President Obama once called him a “true giant of history” and he has transformed the life of Singaporeans immensely. Today, I would like to take a moment to mourn about the passing of Singapore’s loving founding father Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. On 9 August 1965, Singapore gained independence after separating from Malaysia. This was a moment of anguish and sadness but Minister Mentor Lee Kuan was not ready to give up on Singapore. In his relentless effort to transform Singapore, he has shed tears and spent sleepless nights pondering about the greater good of our nation. Running as a minister, he performed a stellar job. Within a short span of almost 50 years, the country build up a great defence force as well as a vibrant economy. This has led to creation of jobs, great infrastructure and an impeccable education system. His valiant efforts were well paid off and Singapore is now a first class oasis.

Asides from being a great politician, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew gave me an impression that he was also very romantic. Although I am not in a position to comment on his personal life, I could tell that the love for his late wife, Madam Kwa Geok Choo was unconditional. Also,I have always admired his intellect and perseverance. As a child, he grew up facing hard times, but has never given up.

It is with deep regrets that he will not be able to join us during our 50th national day. However, I am sure that he is pleased to have witnessed the progression of Singapore from a third world country to a first world country. It is with much gratitude to him and the cabinet that Singapore now enjoys multi- ethnicity, peace and stability.

Today, also marks the last day where the public can visit Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's lying in state at Parliament House. He truly deserves tremendous recognition and respect for making Singapore what it is today and I would like to express my many thanks to him.

If you would like to know more about Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew and his contributions please visit remembering lee kuan yew . Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew will always have a place in my heart and his contributions will forever be etched in my mind.

On weekdays

Weekdays can feel like a never ending nightmare especially when you are stuck to a stressful job and can hardly find the time to breathe. Sometimes, you may be on the verge of breaking down and your mind has drawn a blank.

It is hard times like this that we need to distress. Find what helps you relieve stress the best and go all out for it. For me, I seek relieve from food and I can never get bored of it because the variety is never ending. Another way that I love to release stress is going on shopping sprees. Although it is difficult to find time and money to do what we love in life all the time, we should pamper ourselves every once in a little while.
